What are NY Lottery Codes?
You just got home with your NY Lottery scratch off ticket and scratched away the silver foil but you aren't sure if you won. You don't want to drive back to the store but you really want to know if you hit a prize. And you've heard rumors about NY Lottery Codes being able to tell if you won.
Can you rely on those 3 letter codes, known as validation codes, hidden around the play area to tell you?
It turns out, they may not be reliable. The NY Lottery doesn't address winning scratch off codes on its website and online discussions indicate the NY Lottery may have ceased using codes back in 2013 on most tickets.
Only some of the more difficult to tell if you won games (think Crosswords) may contain winning scratch off codes.
BE CAREFUL though! BIG WARNING COMING...
NY Lottery scratch off prizes over $600 may show a non-winning code!
That means if you have a big prize, the validation codes won't help. They only work for prizes $600 and less.
Below we have compiled a list of past winning scratch off codes for the NY Lottery.
While this is quick reference guide, you should not rely on scratch ticket codes to determine a winner. All tickets should be verified by an official NY Lottery retailer.
