What are SC Lottery Scratch Off Codes?
You just got home with your SC Lottery scratch off game and scratched away the silver foil but you aren't sure if you won. You don't want to drive back to the store but you really want to know if you hit a prize. And you've heard rumors about SC Lottery Scratch Off Codes being able to tell if you won.
Can you rely on those 3 letter codes, known as validation codes, hidden around the play area to tell you?
We scoured the South Carolina Education Lottery Website and found information regarding scratcher codes included in the scratcher game rules.
According to the instant game rules, the South Carolina Lottery uses a Validation Number, which is the multi-digit number found on the face of the ticket to check winning tickets. A Validation Number is checked via a Bar Code Validation, which is a system that allows any winning lottery ticket, printed with computer readable bar codes, for a prize of up to $500, or other amount as directed by the Commission, to be read electronically at any lottery retailer location and paid by the retailer regardless of where the player purchased the ticket.
There was no mention of validation codes found on the website.
What do Players Say?
While the SC Lottery doesn't discuss validation codes, SC scratch off players reported the below codes being used in the past.
This is quick reference guide, you should not rely on scratch ticket codes to determine a winner. All tickets should be verified by an official SC Lottery retailer.
