How long do I have to claim a winning ticket?
In Louisiana, scratch off prizes can be collected up to 90 days following the closure of the game. Draw game prizes can be collected up to 180 after the drawing that the ticket was purchased for. Fast Play ticket can be claimed up to 90 days following the date of purchase.
How can I claim a winning ticket?
Prize claims of $600 or less can be claimed at any participating lottery retailer, lottery office or by mail.
Prizes over $600 and up to $5,000 must be claimed at a lottery office or by mail.
Prizes over $5,000 must be claimed at a Lottery Office.
Lotto, Powerball and Mega Millions jackpot prizes as well as any Powerball or Mega Millions prize of over $510,000 much be claimed at Lottery headquarters.
Can lottery winners remain anonymous?
Unfortunately in the State of Louisiana, all prize payments are considered public record. The Lottery statute also allows for the Lottery to use the winners’ names and city of residence for publicity purposes such as news releases.
