Strategy
What scratch off prizes are remaining?
The top remaining scratch off prizes, ranked from largest to smallest top prize, are as follows. For a complete list of remaining prizes for all games, visit our Arkansas Lottery Remaining Prizes page.
What does Overall Odds mean?
Overall Odds refer to the odds of winning ANY prize, including breakeven prizes. If the Overall Odds of winning are 1 in 3.5, that does not mean that if you purchased four tickets that one of them is a guaranteed winner. The Overall Odds are the odds of winning any prize, on average, over the course of the entire game.
You can find the Overall Odds on the back of your scratch off ticket. Lottery players also often check the REAL Odds™️ of scratch games, which is similar to Overall Odds, except all breakeven prizes are stripped out to show the true odds of winning prizes greater than the cost of the ticket.
How can I win scratch offs?
It’s important to remember the lottery is a game of chance and winning takes a combination of planning and luck. Playing with a strategy can improve your chances of bringing home a prize. We recommend players:
- Have a Plan – Decide which prizes you are targeting today. Don’t be the player that wants to “win anything”. Have a plan in mind and remember the smaller your prize goal, the better the odds. Winning $500 is much easier than trying to bring home a $1MM Top Prize.
- Set a Budget – Have a budget as that will help determine the price point to play and how many tickets you are able to purchase.
- Play the Best Odds – Having a target prize in mind (e.g. $1,000) and a budget (e.g. $20), you can focus in on which games has the BEST odds of winning today.
What is the "BEST" scratch off to buy?
Players ask this question often and are usually referring to which game has the best Overall Odds. That is because they don’t realize prize level data is available. The “BEST” game to play is going to vary player to player.
Each player has a different prize amount they would be thrilled to win as well as a budget they can spend. Smart players will target the smallest amount that will make a meaningful impact as the odds will be much better than always swinging for a grand prize.
Which scratch game wins the most?
Players differ on what they mean when they ask which scratch off wins the most. Let’s breakdown some common meanings:
Overall Odds – The best overall odds will have the most “wins”; however, these games often are packed with smaller, breakeven prizes. Players may see more wins, but often they will just be winning their money back.
Prize Payout – The higher the Prize Payout, the more of ticket sales are paid out as prizes to players. Typically higher priced games will payout more prize money than the less expensive games.
PRO TIP – Players should focus on prizes they want to win and using available information, play with an edge. Knowing when the odds to win have greatly improved or utilizing estimates of ticket sales, they are better able to time their purchases.
Claims
How long do I have to claim a scratch off prize?
In Arkansas, scratch off prizes must be claimed within 90 days of the announced end of the game. The specific end date can be found on the Arkansas Lottery’s website.
How do I claim my winnings?
By Mail – You can claim any winnings up to $1MM by mail.
Retailer – Prizes of $500 or less can be claimed at any authorized Arkansas Lottery retailer.
Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center – Prizes over $500 must be claimed at the lottery Claim Center unless done by mail. However, any prize of $1 million or more must be claimed in person at the Claim Center.
Tickets
What new scratch games are there from the Arkansas Lottery?
Scratch games released in the last 30 days are highlighted with a “NEW GAME!” tag on all our scratch off rankings.
PRO TIP – Many scratch off players believe the newest scratch off games are “hot” and have more winners than older games. In reality, new game releases tend to sell more tickets because they are the new, flashy game. With the increased ticket sales, you will naturally see more winners.
Which lottery game has the best odds?
We always answer this question with a question – “Best odds to win what?”
The best odds to win are going to vary based on your specific play. Are you playing to win enough for a fancy dinner or are you looking for some serious “buy an island” kind of money? Each lottery game, scratch and draw games, are designed with varying prize odds giving some games better odds to win different prizes.
At LottoEdge we recognize that each player has a different goal and playing style which is why we offer over 20 scratch game rankings plus price filters to help you know which scratch game has the best odds. We also provide draw game odds comparisons for all your favorite Arkansas Lottery games.
How many tickets are on a roll of scratch offs?
The number of tickets on a roll of scratch offs can vary depending on the game and ticket price. Typically, rolls can have anywhere from 20 to 300 tickets and the total cost of the roll might vary from $300 to $600.
You can get precise information by asking your local lottery retailer.
