How do I Play Vermont Lottery Gimme 5?

  1. PICK YOUR NUMBERS: 

    Select 5 numbers from 1 to 39 by using a playslip to mark your numbers or mark the Quick Pick (QP) box to randomly select any or all of your numbers for each play.

  2. BUY YOUR TICKET: 

    Tickets cost $1 per play and sales are suspended 15 minutes prior to the draw. Gimme 5 tickets may be canceled after being printed but cancellation is restricted to the date and location of purchase.  Tickets must be purchased from a licensed lottery retailer.

  3. PLAY MULTIPLE DRAWINGS:

    Request up to 30 consecutive draws either on the playslip or through the retailer. Advance Play lets you play multiple consecutive draws. Draws cannot be skipped.

Q: Which has better odds — picking my own numbers or requesting a Quick Pick?

A: Whether you pick your own numbers or have the terminal randomly select numbers for you, the odds of winning are the same.

Purchasing Tickets

Q: How much do Gimme 5 tickets cost?

A: VT Gimme 5 tickets cost $1 per play.


Q: Can I purchase Gimme 5 tickets in advance?

A: To play multiple upcoming draws, request from 2 to 30 Multi Draws either on the playslip or through the retailer. Multi Draws will include the next upcoming draw and be consecutive from that draw. Draws cannot be skipped.


Q: How late can I purchase VT Gimme 5 tickets on a draw night?

A: Sales are suspended 15 minutes prior to the draw.


Q: Can a Gimme 5 ticket be voided or canceled?

A: Yes. Gimme 5 tickets may be cancelled. Cancellation is restricted to the date and location of purchase. Tickets purchased for a drawing on the purchase date must be cancelled prior to draw break for that day’s drawing.

Prizes and Claims

Q: Do Gimme 5 tickets expire?

A: Prizes must be claimed within 1 year of the draw date on which the prize was won.


Q: Do I have to match the numbers in the exact order drawn?

A: No. The order of the white ball numbers drawn does not matter.


Q: I lost my ticket. Can I claim a prize with a playslip or store receipt?

A: Gimme 5 prizes can only be claimed with a ticket printed from the lottery terminal. Playslips or store receipts will not constitute proof of purchase. Lottery tickets are bearer instruments, meaning the person who presents the ticket for claim will be presumed to be the owner. Always sign the back of any lottery ticket immediately. If you lose a ticket before you sign it, you no longer have valid ownership of the ticket.

What is Vermont Gimme 5?

Gimme 5 is a tri-state (Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine) drawing game with a fixed top prize of $100,000. Drawings are held at 7:00 p.m. ET every Monday through Friday.  Sales stop approximately 15 minutes prior to the draw time.  The Vermont Lottery posts all results immediately after each drawing.

Five numbered balls are drawn from 1 to 39. If all your numbers match the drawn numbers, you win $100,000. If other players also match all five numbers, the prize will be shared in equal amounts.

Each Gimme 5 ticket is $1.
